The Portland Craft Mafia was started by Casie of BeBe Babies, Katrina of Mode Noir and Sarah of S. Jane. The idea is to bring Portland Oregon crafters together as well as be linked to a growing international craft organization.
We are no longer accepting new members at this time. However if you are interested in joining us please email portlandoregoncraftmafia@yahoo.com and include your name, contact info and link(s) to your creations as there is always a chance that a current member could drop out. While we don't want the familia to be restrictive we do want to support members that create high quality innovative crafts. New members will be invited to join after all current PDX craft mafia members have a chance to review potential member's shops and vote.

What are the benefits of being in the Portland Craft Mafia?
The Craft Mafia provides invaluable resources to all members through website and print cross-promotion. Not only is being a member great advertising for any DIY business but being a member also provides oppurtunities to meet like-minded individuals for support and friendship in a localized setting. We believe that as a group we can accomplish more and bring our products to a wider audience. Members also receive priority table space at shows and events. You are not required to be a member to participate in shows as show fees are not covered by membership dues.
Why the Craft Mafia?
Autumn from Autumn Comfort Candles said it best, “I am a current member of the small, but rapidly growing Portland Mafia, and I must say that for someone such as myself, I feel like membership gives me promotional possibilities that on my own would be completely unattainable. For a measly 5 smackers a month I am linked to one of the largest networks of independent crafty cooperatives in the country. If I wanted to buy press to reach that kind of audience it would cost me hundreds to thousands of the big bucks”.
What press is Autumn talking about?
Jesse Kelly-Landes is one of the founding members of the original Craft Mafia. Her input and mentorship has been invaluable to our new group. She is always there ready to answer all our newbie questions. The larger Craft Mafia organization pools the membership dues to purchase ads in very large publications that cost hundreds of dollars if not thousands. Not many small up and coming businesses can afford these types of ad campaigns. Jesse explains, “By joining the Craft Mafia you receive the benefit of all the promotion every Craft Mafia is getting world-wide. You get exposure every time someone reads an article about the Glasgow or the Vancouver or the Los Angeles Craft Mafia.”
